About Cooper Lord
Cooper Lord practices in Kitchener, Ontario, where he only handles criminal law.
For more than ten years, Cooper Lord has been effectively assisting clients facing criminal charges throughout Southwestern Ontario. With a background as a prosecutor in Florida, Cooper has the perspective needed to deal with prosecutors and judges successfully and to obtain the best possible resolution for his clients. Cooper defends clients faced with all types of serious and complex charges, with a particular zeal for protecting the Charter rights of an accused.
Cooper received his B.A. from the University of Florida in 2005 and his J.D. from Florida State University in 2010. Cooper worked as an assistant state attorney in Polk County, Florida, from 2010-2013 before moving to Canada and opening up his criminal defence practice. Cooper served on the Board of Trustees for the Waterloo Region Law Association from 2019-2021, and as an advisor for the Laurier-Sussex Law Program Advisory Group from 2020-2021. He is an active member of the Criminal Practitioners of Waterloo Region and the Criminal Lawyers Association.

Julia Kuczynski – Associate
About Julia Kuczynski
Julia Kuczynski was called to the bar in June 2024. A local to Kitchener-Waterloo, she graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts. She received her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill’s Faculty of Law in 2023. During her time at McGill, she studied a variety of areas of law, but found her calling in criminal law. In her final year, she completed a legal clinic placement at Montreal’s SPCA.
After completing her articles at Cooper Lord Law, Julia returned to the firm as an associate. She has defended clients with offences ranging from federal drug charges, to provincial and Criminal Code offences. She works hard to get her clients the best outcome possible while helping them navigate the difficulties that come with fighting criminal charges.


Megan Delaronde – Associate
About Megan Delaronde
Megan knew early on that she wanted to practice criminal law, and pursued her Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies at the University of Waterloo, graduating with honour in 2019. Megan worked briefly in the tech field before continuing on to study law at Osgoode Hall Law School. During her time at Osgoode, Megan was the Director of Cultural and Community Relations for the Osgoode Indigenous Students’ Association from 2021-2023. She earned distinction in criminal and Indigenous law classes, and worked for the Kitchener Crown Office for two summers before landing in criminal defence. Megan received her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2023, and was awarded the “Be the Change” Award for contributions to social justice, as well as the Legal and Literary Society Graduating Student Award for Exceptional Leadership in 2023.
Megan then completed her articles under both Tonya Kent and Cooper Lord Law, working on a variety of cases ranging from simple charges to complex murder cases. Megan was called to the Bar in June of 2025. Megan sits on the Board of Directors with the KW Urban Native Wigwam Project.
After completion of articles, Megan returned to Cooper Lord Law as an associate. Megan defends clients with charges of any kind, and has a particular focus on youth, Indigenous clients, drugs and gun charges, and cases involving search warrants. Megan is known for her positive disposition, her attention to detail, her excellent oral advocacy, and her compassion and care for her clients. Megan accepts both Legal Aid and private clients.
